The Cottages of Deupree
Cincinnati, OH
4,700 sq ft each
Completed in June of 2009, The Deupree Cottages represent an award winning, new national model for elder care, emphasizing the concept of “home.”
The interiors of the Deupree Cottages were developed in cooperation with Steve Shields, a pioneer in the movement towards patient-centered care, in conjunction with the architecture firm SFCS, and Ridgestone Builders. The Cottages reflect a more relaxed environment with the goal of moving away from an institutional model.
Design Collective was responsible for all interior finishes and furnishings for both Cottages, one each in the "Craftsman" and "Colonial" style. Each cottage is designed to house 12 residents, with 10 private rooms and two suites. A central hearth room with a fireplace adjoins a resident kitchen and dining room, encouraging interaction and a home-like atmosphere for residents and staff alike.
"Thanks for the care, sensitivity and professionalism you offered in creating the design for this new concept." - Doug Spitler, President and CEO Episcopal Retirement Home
